VERTICAL TASTING OF “ MARIO SCHIOPETTO”
The wine that bears the name of the company and its founder is marketed for the first time in the year 2002, after a long rehearsal period. Label binding, not only because it has the name of the company, but also because it has become the flag-carrier. Mario Schiopetto was a true revolutionary for Italian wine, a visionary who sought in the late sixties the clarity and crispness to the palate and nose when whites had a more full and rustic style. These wines did school. They named a new winemaking philosophy, married slowly across the peninsula. The "Mario Schiopetto White" is a wine built by Mario and his sons, and not an icon memorial: dedicated not only to him but rather his genius, his way of thinking about the wine that had led him to study ten years to propose, in a moment when the "fashion" was waning. "We don’t want to be in contrast or different, says Maria Angela Schiopetto, but we are convinced that the wine cannot be fashionable, but it should be the highest expression of the variety, tradition, land and the vintage, and also because a wine must be expressed, in accordance with the characteristics mentioned, the personality of those who produce it. In our case this means the desire to produce wines of a certain structure but always balanced and elegant.

HARD AND PURE FROM THE NORTH EAST
Once Upon a time "Tocai". Then the fault of the bureaucrats has changed its name. But his strong character, very sharp and mineral remains the same. It offers the best after a wise aging in the cellar, which makes it a much sought after by wine connoisseurs. Without taking anything away from other areas of production, his area of choice is undoubtedly the Collio, and in particular the area of Cormons. More specifically, the districts of Brazzano, Plessiva, Zegla, Novali have consolidated over the years the vocation of real cru. Here come the wines more energetic, well defined and deep -in a word, more complete - . Type that in the last three or four decades has defined its peculiar traits. The historical memory of the "Friulano" is certainly represented by Mario Schiopetto bottles, on the one hand, and those of Nicola Manferrari other, said Giampaolo Gravina. Even today some of their vintage '80s and '90s give intense emotions. In fact, the "Friulano" has unsuspected talents of longevity and over time it can find nuances and structures. WHITE WINES THAT HAVE MADE THE HISTORY OF COLLIO
25 years of GAMBERO ROSSO - Mario was the company's founding in the mid-'60s, when he rented an old farm and tried to implement what
he had seen and more appreciated by visiting the best production areas in Europe. Then slowly worked his interpretation of the territory, adapting these teachings in the Collio area, with results that have become increasingly convincing. Today, his children, Maria Angela, Carlo and Giorgio, take care of the vineyards (which exceeded 30 hectares), production and marketing.

DUEMILAVINI 2012
Mario Schiopetto, who left us for some years, was one of the founders of country wines of Collio and their modern interpretation. The farm is one of the best in Friuli Collio area. The family’s 30 hectares of vineyards stretch across Capriva of Friuli, the Podere of Blumeri and the estate surrounding the former residence of the Archbishop of Gorizia. Elder Schiopetto Mario began producing wines in 1965. She has travelled all the wine regions of Europe and was a pioneer of modern wine production in Friuli. Now the farm owns a splendid cellar in Capriva camouflaged in the hills of Friuli and designed by Tobia Scarpa.
Schiopetto has produced the first Pinot Grigio in 1968, long before it became fashionable. Golden-yellow rather than clear green as many other insipid wines of this variety, Pinot Grigio Schiopetto 2008 shows what can be drawn with this grape, if treated by the right hands.
Rich, tasty and characteristically low in acidity, this wine is long, elegant and pure, without any trace of oak to taste fruity clearly defined the position. Although it is rather concentrated, it should be drunk young because it loses freshness and acidity after three or four years in the bottle.
ESPRESSO - I VINI D'ITALIA 2012
Became established over the years as a model of elegance, clarity and reliability, the Schiopetto Mario winery has consolidated, even after the death of its charismatic founder, this challenging reputation. All the wines all have a perfect aromatic definition, and the technique is often at the service of the nuances of taste and smell and the expressiveness of each variety: in the context of the best white wines of the Collio, a safe value.
COLLIO SAUVIGNON 2009 4 BOTTLES - beautiful color, golden and bright, rich nose without appearing heavy, beautiful ripe palate, full development but nuanced, incisive but not as the final good distinction and definition.
I VINI DI VERONELLI 2012
German technology and French finesse combined realize a Friulian dream. 'This is the philosophy that animated Mario Schiopetto’s work, since, in 1965, he rented an old farm by the Archbishop of Gorizia, which then he purchased in 1989. After his death, the winery is run by children with undiminished commitment.
Wonderful brothers’initiative, with the right vintages aging in glass released after years of rest in the cellar, and only in magnum size. To study, but above all to drink (with the greatest pleasure).
